Established in July 2007 Colliery Media CIC is a community interest company based in Sunderland in the North East of England.
The organisation developed from a voluntary, community group which produced a free community newspaper distributed in the north of Sunderland, the Colliery Chronicle.
The Colliery Chronicle made its first appearance as a 12 page publication in 2003 and grew to a 20 page publication during the following five years before becoming the stand alone colliery Media CIC.
Six years on the Colliery Chronicle is still at the forefront of the organisations agenda which now also encompasses a training and learning department as well as a low cost design and print service for voluntary and community organisations as well as local businesses.
Colliery Media are also working with Punchline magazine to enable the brand new enterprise and team to develop their product and future business model.
